Below is the project management Trello I used to keep track of hours and plan my time efficiently.

This living, breathing board helped to organize my work by development status, story beats, and estimated hours of work. It helped me to know which work to prioritize and how to most effectively spend my time especially since this project was self driven. I chose this particular method of organization so that I could adapt my production pipeline as the project's needs changed. I was careful to keep track of hours spent on each task to keep myself accountable and so that I could better plan my time for upcoming tasks.

For plot and story planning, I often referred to the game's flowchart and narrative planning board during the writing process.

This helped me to keep track of characters, visualize the flow of the story, and make sure I was meeting my intended goals and theming with the project.

Keeping my planning clean and clear also helped in getting feedback and sharing my work with peers and proofreaders.

Project Planning Iteration

Over the course of five sprints split over the course of about one month, I worked independently to plan and execute this 5 chapter interactive mystery novel. All of the project planning and organizational work was done myself along with the actual writing and plotting.

Below are the first three iterations of my planning board:

Iteration 1
This initial iteration of my planning board is cramped and lacks visual communication for the flow of events.

This iteration was short-lived and many of the story beats got cut, but going through this stage helped me to start ironing out key elements such as the tone of the story. It also helped me to develop characters I would end up using in the final game.

I decided to change up my planning document to better handle branching narrative
and to help me visualize the flow of events.

Iteration 2
My second pass on my planning document included granular details about the events and movements of individual characters in each scene. Like the first iteration, much of the content from this iteration was scrapped as better content was developed, but beginning to work out a flow chart and utilize visual communication helped with planning, which was my intention during this second pass.

Iteration 3
This iteration focused on plotting out timelines and establishing character actions relating to one specific scene in the mystery.
I chose to plan in this way because this segment of the story focused on the characters' movements and actions on a set timeline. It was important for me to understand what every character was doing and how the player gets this information.
